How to monetize your video content
When offering video content, implementing a strong monetization strategy is crucial. Our platform is designed to adapt to your unique requirements and includes built-in monetization features. With AVOD (Advertisement-Based Video on Demand), you can configure ad slots for specific assets and define the intervals for ad placement. Additionally, SVOD (Subscription-Based Video on Demand) allows you to create and manage subscription products, enabling consistent, recurring revenue generation.
Advertisement-Based Video on Demand
AVOD
Our platform supports Advertisement-Based Video on Demand (AVOD), enabling you to monetize your content by embedding video ad slots within it.
Requirements:
To implement AVOD, you’ll need an IMA/VAST-compatible video ad server, such as Google Ad Manager (GAM), SpotX, SpringServe, or similar. Key Features: Our platform offers flexible ad configurations, allowing you to control when and how often video ads are served based on the following criteria:
-
Content Metadata:
Target ads to specific content based on metadata such as provider, genre, parental rating, or keywords. -
User Subscription:
Differentiate between free users and subscribers or assign ads to specific subscription tiers. -
User Profile:
Customize ads based on profile details like age group (e.g., kids vs. adults), gender, or birthdate. -
Account-Level Settings:
Define ad experiences for specific user groups (realms). -
Client Application:
Tailor ad delivery for specific platforms, such as web applications, Apple TV, or Tizen. -
Ad Placement & Frequency:
Configure pre-roll ads, mid-roll ads, or both. Set mid-roll intervals, e.g., every 20 minutes. Respect content-specific ad slots when available, or apply the platform-wide frequency settings when no content-defined slots are provided.

Advanced Configuration:
Our platform supports creating tailored configurations for
specific scenarios (e.g., subscribers vs. free users).
Additionally, you can stack configurations and assign priorities
to reduce complexity.
Example:
A default ad setup applies to all users, but users on Apple TV
receive a custom ad experience that overrides the default
configuration.
Subscription-Based Video on Demand
SVOD
Lovely Streaming enables you to monetize video content through a subscription-based model. End users can purchase subscriptions tailored to your product configurations. Each product represents an offering with a defined price, billing frequency (monthly or yearly), and rules for content visibility and playback. However, the platform offers far greater flexibility than these basic elements.
Key Features of a Product:
-
Offering Parameters:
Define how the subscription is presented to users, including benefits, promotional images, and tax information. -
Pricing Options:
Set monthly and/or yearly pricing tiers. -
Payment Methods:
Configure supported payment methods such as Adyen or telecom carriers. -
Stream Limits:
Optionally, restrict the number of concurrent streams allowed per subscription. -
Device Limits:
Optionally, limit the number of devices that can connect to an account under the subscription. -
Trial Period:
Offer free trials to attract new users. -
Asset Visibility:
Specify which assets appear in the catalog for subscribers. -
Asset Playback:
Determine which assets can be played. For content that is visible but not playable, a lock icon can be displayed in the client interface, prompting users to upgrade to a higher subscription tier.
Seamless Integration with External Sources
Lovely Streaming also supports external subscription sources and payment methods, such as carrier bundling or carrier billing, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of monetization strategies.
Coupons
Lovely Streaming makes it easy to boost subscriptions with its Coupon Campaign features. Both static and dynamic coupons can be created and configured to offer discounts on new products, existing subscriptions, or even to retain users by reducing churn when they consider canceling their subscription.
